Despite fainting briefly, Gadkari swiftly received medical attention and resumed his speech, reassuring the crowd of his recovery. Gadkari, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was campaigning for Rajashree Patil, backed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena, in the Yavatmal-Washim constituency. This event unfolded amidst ongoing political maneuvering, with the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shinde-led Sena, and a breakaway faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, jostling for electoral dominance.
Earlier, Gadkari found himself at the center of political attention when former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray extended a provocative invitation, suggesting Gadkari consider joining the opposition alliance. However, Gadkari rebuffed the offer, emphasizing his commitment to the BJP’s electoral process.
As Maharashtra’s political landscape heats up ahead of the upcoming polls, the allocation of key constituencies remains a point of contention. The BJP and its allies are engaged in negotiations to secure advantageous seat-sharing arrangements, particularly in pivotal regions like Nashik, Thane, and Mumbai South.
