Director SS Rajamouli, renowned for his work on the Baahubali films, has announced his latest project, ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood.’ The announcement was made on X platform, accompanied by a video unveiling the title and teasing the imminent trailer release.
In the video shared on Tuesday, the title emerges from smoke, set against the backdrop of chanting voices repeating ‘Baahubali.’ Rajamouli wrote, “When the people of Mahishmati chant his name, no force in the universe can stop him from returning. Baahubali: Crown of Blood, an animated series trailer, arrives soon!” The filmmaker has yet to reveal details about the cast and storyline.
This marks the second venture into animation for the Baahubali franchise. In 2017, Rajamouli introduced ‘Baahubali: The Lost Legends,’ an animated series spanning four seasons, which streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
The release of ‘Baahubali 2’ in 2017 was highly anticipated, following the first film’s major cliffhanger ending. Premiering on over 9,000 screens worldwide, including 6,500 in India, the sequel set records as the most widely distributed Indian film at the time.
