Mumbai Indians (MI) and India star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has become the fourth Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 300 T20 wickets.
Bumrah’s Milestone
Bumrah achieved this feat during MI’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Uppal Stadium. He delivered a spell of 1/39 in four overs, claiming the wicket of Heinrich Klaasen, who had been instrumental in SRH’s recovery.
Elite Company
Bumrah joins Ravichandran Ashwin (315 wickets), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (318 wickets), and Yuzvendra Chahal (373 wickets) in the exclusive club of Indian bowlers with 300 or more T20 wickets. He has also levelled with Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga as the joint-highest wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians with 170 wickets.
Bumrah’s IPL Performance
In five IPL matches so far this season, Bumrah has taken five wickets at an average of 31.60, with best figures of 2/25. He is the eighth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history.
MI’s Victory
MI won the toss and opted to field first. They restricted SRH to 143/8 in their 20 overs, with Trent Boult taking 4/26 and Deepak Hooda claiming 2/12. Pandya and Bumrah each took a wicket.
Bumrah’s achievement is a testament to his consistent performance and skill as a pace bowler. His inclusion in this elite group of Indian bowlers further solidifies his position as one of the best in the world.
