Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has held a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar to review the performance of the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation (GSRDC). The meeting focused on evaluating ongoing road projects and approving new ones to enhance connectivity and infrastructure across the state.
Patel approved projects worth Rs 247.35 crore for key road developments, including the six-laning of the Shantipura to Khoraj section of the Ahmedabad-Viramgam-Maliya road, at an estimated cost of Rs800 crore. This project will significantly benefit the Sanand industrial area by improving connectivity and attracting new investment.
A Focus on Quality and Efficiency:
The meeting reviewed the progress of projects valued at Rs 2999.8 crore, covering 188.9 km of road construction, resurfacing, and widening. Key projects under review included the six-lane elevated corridor on the Bharuch-Dahej Road, the Bharuch-Dahej Expressway, and the Vataman-Pipli high-speed corridor.
Patel directed officials to fast-track the construction of key roads while maintaining a strong focus on quality. He also approved funding for new vehicle underpasses on various roads to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents.
Looking Ahead:
The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of accelerating the land acquisition and detailed project report process for the Namo Shakti Expressway and Ahmedabad-Somnath-Dwarka Expressway, both of which were proposed in the budget for the financial year 2025-26.
