Kohima, Nagaland, India – The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has released the much-awaited results for the 2025 High School Leaving Certificate Examination (Class 10) and Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class 12). The results were officially announced on Friday, marking a significant milestone for thousands of students across the state.

Remarkable Achievements in Class 10

Lungyihangle Nring, a student of St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, secured the top position in the HSLC (Class 10) Examination with an outstanding 98.67 per cent. This achievement reflects the dedication and academic excellence displayed by young scholars in the region.

The overall performance in the HSLC Examination revealed contrasting outcomes between government and private schools. A total of 5,453 students from government schools appeared for the examination, with a pass percentage of 48.41 per cent. In comparison, 15,976 students from private schools registered a significantly higher pass rate of 87.64 per cent. Among 884 repeat candidates, only 14.59 per cent managed to qualify, highlighting the challenges faced by students retaking the exams.

Top Performers in Class 12 Streams

The HSSLC (Class 12) Examination also witnessed exceptional performances across the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. Vikhono Senotsu, a student of GHSS, Jotsoma, Kohima, emerged as the Arts stream topper with an impressive 96.20 per cent. In the Commerce stream, Arti Kumari from Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, secured the highest score with 94.60 per cent. Snigtha Mukherjee of St. John Higher Secondary Residential School claimed the top spot in the Science stream with 93.40 per cent.

Stream-Wise Statistics in Class 12

The Class 12 results showcased promising outcomes across streams:

Arts: 12,404 students appeared, with a pass percentage of 84.05 per cent.
Commerce: 1,027 students took the exam, recording a pass rate of 81.40 per cent.
Science: Of the 3,218 students enrolled, 76.54 per cent successfully qualified.

These figures underline the sustained efforts of both students and educators in achieving academic success.

Infrastructure for Examinations

To accommodate the large number of candidates, the NBSE set up 97 examination centres for HSLC (Class 10) and 68 centres for HSSLC (Class 12). This logistical undertaking ensured a smooth and organised conduct of the examinations.
