Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir – After a week-long suspension due to hostilities between India and Pakistan, helicopter services from Katra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine resumed on 14 May, restoring normalcy in the region.
Gradual Return to Normalcy
The cessation of hostilities has allowed residents, pilgrims, and students to resume daily activities. Schools in Jammu & Kashmir’s Reasi district reopened, and border-area schools in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch will resume on 15 May, offering relief to students and parents.
Restoring Stability After Conflict
India’s Operation Sindoor, conducted in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, led to precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK, resulting in over 100 terrorist casualties.
Following India’s successful military engagement, the Pakistan DGMO reached out to his Indian counterpart, leading to an agreement to cease fire and halt military actions.

With schools reopening and transport services resuming, Jammu & Kashmir is gradually returning to stability, offering renewed confidence to residents and visitors.
