Global Condemnation and Support for India After Pahalgam Terror Attack

The world has united in condemning the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, offering unstinting support to India. Leaders from various countries, including the US, Russia, UAE, Israel, Singapore, France, Sri Lanka, and Iran, have expressed their outrage and solidarity.

US Condemnation and Support

US President Donald Trump, in a statement on his social media platform Truth Social, said, “Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!”

US Vice President JD Vance, currently visiting India, also extended his condolences to the victims and their families. The US State Department issued a statement condemning the attack and calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

International Support

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his condolences to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, reiterating Russia’s commitment to fighting terrorism. The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the attack, expressing its sympathy to the government and people of India.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed solidarity with India, stating, “Deeply saddened by the terrorist attack that occurred today in India, which caused numerous victims. Italy expresses its closeness to the families affected, the injured, the Government and all the Indian people.”

Iran’s Embassy in New Delhi also condemned the attack, offering condolences to the government and people of India. France’s Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, expressed his country’s solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism.

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and offered its unwavering commitment to regional peace and security. Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, extended his country’s support to India in the fight against terrorism. Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, expressed shock over the attack and offered condolences to the families of the injured and deceased.

India’s Response

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who travelled to Srinagar to hold a high-level security review meeting, said that those involved in the attack “will not be spared.” He also briefed Prime Minister Modi about the incident.

The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. Candlelight vigils were organised in various parts of Kashmir by local residents against the terrorist attack.

The international community’s condemnation of the attack and its unwavering support for India demonstrate the global rejection of terrorism and the shared commitment to combating this threat.
